Presented is a set of seven (7) baseball pictorial sections from various newspapers and magazines circa 1953 which includes over 150 signatures featuring signatures from members of the 1953 Chicago Cubs, Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox including two pre-rookie signatures of Ernie Banks and other Hall of Famers such as Ralph Kiner, Roy Campanella, Hank Greenberg, Billy Herman, Casey Stengel, Yogi Berra, Phil Rizzuto, Mickey Mantle, Lou Boudreau, George Kell, Joe Page and Ted Williams, among others. The first item in this collection is a 4¼ x 8-inch white cut index card with the signatures of four former Brooklyn Dodgers players including Hall of Famer Pee Wee Reese, Ralph Branca and Carl Erskine, all in blue pen. The card features a 2 x 3¼-inch black & white photo of Reese cut from a newspaper, and is inscribed “April 18, 53” in blue pen. This item comes with a COA from JSA (GG50828). The second item in this collection is a 7½ x 11-inch white cut with the signature of Hall of Fame Detroit Tigers first baseman Hank Greenberg in blue pen, below a cut black and white magazine photo of Charlie Keller, Jimmy Foxx, Joe DiMaggio, Hank Greenberg and Bob Johnson in 1940, and above a cut black & white head & shoulder photo of Greenberg. The third item in this collection is a Joe Page signature in blue pen in the lower right corner of a 6¼ x 9½-inch cut white sheet with a cut color magazine photo of the former New York Yankees relief pitcher. The fourth item in this collection is a multi-signed 8½ x 11-inch white paper, eight-page section of the 1953 magazine “Baseball Pictorial” featuring 13 signatures in blue and red pen of the 1953 World Champion New York Yankees, including Hall of Famers Casey Stengel, Bill Dickey, Yogi Berra, Phil Rizzuto, Mickey Mantle and George Weiss as well as notable Yankees players Allie Reynolds, Jerry Coleman (twice), Hank Bauer, Moose Skowron and John Sain.
