After just missing out on the 2012 and 2013 Most Valuable Player Award, Mike Trout finally took home the trophy in 2014. For the year Trout batted .287 and drove in 111 runs. His 36 home runs were a career high for him, and he led the league in runs scored. Tack on 39 doubles, 9 triples and 16 stolen bases and you have the most dangerous batter of the 2014 season. This would be the first time he would win baseball’s most prized single season award, with the Angels star repeating the feat in 2016 and 2019. One of those 39 doubles came from this offered baseball when Trout hit this Official Major League Allan H. Selig ball for a double in the first inning of the April 18, 2014 game in Detroit off Tigers’ pitcher Drew Smyly. This was the first of two doubles on the day for Trout, whose Angels defeated the Tigers 11-6. This ball displays excellent game use with dirt marks and abrasions. This ball comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ194516), authenticating that Trout hit this ball for a double in the top of the first inning in the April 18, 2014 game.
