Joe Girardi contributed a .276 average along with 11 doubles and three home runs in 78 games as the New York Yankees cruised into the Post Season. The Yankees’ veteran catcher’s adept handling of the teams’ pitching was the major factor in New York’s victory in that year’s World Series in which they swept the Padres in 4 games. Girardi’s 1998 Louisville Slugger S318 model bat shows good game use. The barrel displays several prominent ball marks that include leather ball scuffs and ink transfers. Bat rack paint streaks are present, and the handle has a light coat of pine tar. Girardi’s number “25” has been handwritten on the knob and the Yankees catcher has signed the barrel in bold black marker. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18706) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9 and a LOA from Beckett Authentication (A23701) for the signature.
