1974 was the final season for former catcher Johnny Edwards, who spent 14 seasons in the Major League with the Cincinnati Reds, St. Louis Cardinals and the Astros. Offered here are two game used items from his final season of 1974. The first item is a size 46 Wilson game jersey with a zipper-down front. This road gray jersey has “HOUSTON” sewn on across the chest in orange and navy tackle twill. The sleeve ends and collar have navy, white and orange stripes. A matching gray patch with “74” in navy is sewn on the bottom front left tail. The Wilson size 46 tag is sewn on the inside back collar. The back has “7” sewn on in orange and navy tackle twill. A patch has been removed from the left sleeve most likely being prepared for minor league use after the season. This jersey displays heavy game use with wear on the sewn-on number and letters and comes with a LOA from 100% Authentic for the game use. The second item is a retail model John Edwards’ catching glove. This glove was manufactured by MacGregor and shows heavy use. The MacGregor G174 model glove has “John Edwards” stamped in cursive on the outer fingers pad of the palm side. “G174” is stamped on the inner wrist. Edwards has signed his name in silver marker on the inner pad on the fingers.
