Hall of Famer Nellie Fox used this bat during his last season as a player and the first seasons of his coaching career. That last season, 1965, found Fox with the Astros where he hit .268, but more importantly he was able to mentor another diminutive second baseman just beginning his career: Joe Morgan. Fox transitioned into an Astros coach in 1966 before moving to the Senators in 1968. Fox’s 1965-68 Hillerich & Bradsby C12 model bat shows great game use. There are many ball marks and abrasions on the barrel along with bat rack paint streaks and cleat imprints. The handle has a light coat of pine tar and the knob has been stamped with the model number, “C12.” A great gamer from one of the greatest second baseman of the modern era. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8.
