The electrifying two-way sensation Shohei Ohtani wore this red Los Angeles Angels alternate jersey on August 28th, 2019 as the Texas Rangers visited Anaheim for a divisional tilt with the Halos. Ohtani, who started the game as the Angels’ designated hitter, cracked a first inning double off Rangers starter Emmanuel Clase for his 17th two-bagger of the 2019 season as the Angels fell to the Rangers by a score of 3-0. Ohtani, the 2018 American League Rookie of the Year, finished the 2019 season with a triple crown slash line of .286/18/62 in 106 games.
This offered Angels alternate jersey is a red button-down with “ANGELS” and Ohtani’s number “17” sewn on the chest in red, navy, white, and gray tackle twill. “OHTANI” is sewn across the back shoulders in red, navy, and white tackle twill above a second “17”, sewn on the jersey in red, navy, white, and gray tackle twill. A circular Angels logo and a white Majestic logo are sewn on the left sleeve, while an Angels “A” logo and an MLB 150 logo are sewn on the right sleeve. A memorial patch for Los Angeles pitcher Tyler Skaggs is sewn on the chest. The sides and back tail of this jersey are constructed of a red mesh fabric. A Majestic size “48” tag is applied to the front left tail. This jersey comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (VS001116) and a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication, who have photo matched the jersey to the August 28th, 2019 contest.
