New York Mets rookie sensation Pete Alonso used this bat during the May 14, 2019 game against the Nationals in Washington. The first baseman went 1-for-4 against the Nationals, his single coming in the first inning off Jeremy Hellickson. With Alonso on first, Wilson Ramos hit a home run, scoring the first two runs of the Mets 6-2 win over Washington. Photo matched to the May 14th game by Sports Investors Authentication, Alonso’s Rookie of the Year season DTB PA20-AXE-s model bat shows great game use. The barrel shows several distinctive ball marks that include leather ball scuffs and ink transfers. There are abrasions from contact with other equipment and cleat marks present. The ax handle has a Schutte sticker with Alonso’s number “20” affixed. The handle has the remains of a spiral of adhesive tape and a heavy coat of pine tar applied. This bat has been photo matched by Sports Investors Authentication, who have provided a LOA (200203B3) and comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JC242651) for the game use. There is also a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18309) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9.5.
