On his way to winning the Heisman Trophy, running back Mike Rozier put up simply ridiculous statistics – 2,148 rushing yards (7.8 average yards per carry) and 29 touchdowns. Wide receiver Irving Fryar averaged 19.5 yards per catch to go along with eight receiving TDs. In the Orange Bowl, played January 2, 1984, Nebraska fell to the 10-1 Miami Hurricanes by a score of 31-30.
