Encapsulated with Autograph assessed "Authentic" by PSA/DNA. Hall of Famer. Presented is an official New York Yankees payroll check from the 1930 team (dated August 31st of that year), made out in black type to "Herbert Pennock" for the amount of $1,377.25. The instrument has been signed on the front, in fountain pen ink, by Yankees owner and Hall of Famer "Jacob Ruppert" and is countersigned at the left end by General Manager and fellow inductee "E.G. Barrow." Pennock has endorsed the check with his formal, black fountain pen signature (conceding interference from bank punchings) on the reverse. The highly presentable check exhibits a vertical fold line, along with routine bank cancellation punchmarks and stampings. This is a truly captivating payroll check, dating from the glory period of the mighty franchise for which Pennock toiled. Pennock, enshrined at Cooperstown in 1948, passed away earlier that year.
