Offered here are six game used and/or signed bats from members of the 1970’s Houston Astros. The first bats were used by Rich Chiles. The first bat was used during the 1973 season and is a Louisville Slugger M110 model bat. This bat displays light game use and has some finish loss on the upper barrel. The bat is un-cracked and Chiles’ number “23” is handwritten in faded black marker on the knob. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18905) for the game use. The second Chiles bat was used during the 1976 season. This Louisville Slugger M110 model bat displays light to moderate game use and has a crack on the handle. Chiles’ number “20” has been handwritten in black marker on the knob. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18910) for the game use. The next bat was used by Bruce Bochy during the 1978-79 seasons. Bochy’s Hillerich & Bradsby K55 model bat displays heavy game use and has a crack on the handle that has been repaired and secured with nails and tape. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18909) for the game use.
The next bat was used by Lee May during the 1970-72 seasons. May’s Louisville Slugger R161 model bat displays heavy game use and has a crack on the handle. May’s number “23” has been handwritten in faded black marker on the knob and top barrel and May has signed his name in blue marker on the barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18908) for the game use and a JSA Auction Letter for the signatures. The next bat is a Nate Colbert game used Louisville Slugger W248 model bat from the 1973-75 seasons. This bat displays light game use and comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18907) for the game use. The next bat was used by Art How during the 1977-79 seasons. Howe’s Louisville Slugger M110 model bat displays heavy game use and is un-cracked. Howe’s number “18” is handwritten in black marker on the knob and top barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18906) for the game use.
