Former Oakland A’s slugger Mark McGwire had a bounce-back season in 1992. After hitting only 25 home runs with a .201 batting average, McGwire rebounded in 1992 where he hit an impressive 42 home runs, drove in 104 runs and had a respectable .268 batting average. McGwire used this Rawlings/Adirondack 256B model bat during his resurgent 1992 season. This bat displays excellent game use and is un-cracked. There are several ball marks, blue ink transfers and slight checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact on the barrel. There are green bat rack streaks and a moderate coating of pine tar on the upper handle. Stamped on the knob are the bat’s model number (256B) and year (184 92). The knob also has handwritten in blue pen “33” (weight) and “McGwire”. McGwire has signed this bat next to his stamped name on the barrel and inscribed “To Bob, MY SECOND FATHER. ALL MY BEST.” and “8/13/92 HR #36 + #37”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18711) for the game use and has been graded a perfect GU 10. Please note that PSA/DNA did not attribute this bat to the two home runs mentioned in the inscriptions. There is also a LOA from Beckett Authentication for the signature and inscriptions.
