With injuries to key offensive components slowing down the lineup, the 1989 Oakland Athletics were picked up in a big way by their pitching staff. Dave Stewart finished 21-9 with a 3.32 ERA, while Mike Moore (19-11, 2.61) and Bob Welch (17-8, 3.00) rounded out a fantastic top three in the rotation. Closer Dennis Eckersley was phenomenal, finishing the season 4-0 with 33 saves and a 1.56 ERA. Rickey Henderson, in only 85 games, hit .294 with 70 walks and 52 stolen bases. Jose Canseco, in just 65 games, had 17 home runs and 57 runs batted in. Mark McGwire managed to stay healthy enough to hit 33 homers, while Carney Lansford batted .336. After winning the AL West with 99 victories during the regular season, Oakland defeated the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS before sweeping the San Francisco Giants to win the World Series.

Presented here is a Jostens 10K gold 1989 Oakland Athletics World Series championship ring, featuring a single round diamond set on a green colored stone. Additional smaller diamonds appear around the bezel setting as “OAKLAND ATHLETICS WORLD CHAMPS” reads in relief work around the outer perimeter. One side of the ring displays the 1989 World Series “Battle of the Bay” logo along with an image of the Commissioner’s Trophy. The opposite side is centered by an Athletics elephant mascot logo along with a banner reading “WORLD SERIES CHAMPS”. At the top is the name “NACCARATO” while the teams and result of the Series are referenced below. Inside the band of this approximate size 10 ring is marked “10K©JOSTENS”. This ring weighs approximately 37.9 grams and includes the hinged wooded presentation box. The inside of the box shows off a colorful 1989 World Series logo, along with a green felt ring holder, and also includes a plate which reads “Oakland Athletics World Series Champions 1989 Stan Naccarato”.
