The Oakland Athletics had it all in 1990 – power, speed, starting pitching and the best closer in the game – and it all added up to a 103-59 record during the regular season. Mark McGwire (39 home runs, 108 runs batted in) and Jose Canseco (37 HR, 101 RBIs) gave the lineup plenty of pop. Rickey Henderson provided 28 homers of his own, to go along with a .325 batting average, 119 runs scored and 65 stolen bases. On the mound, Bob Welch posted a 27-6 record with a 2.95 ERA with Dave Stewart (22-11, 2.56 ERA) just as dominant. Dennis Eckersley saved 48 games while recording a ridiculous 0.61 ERA. Henderson was named American League Most Valuable Player and Welch won the AL Cy Young Award. The A’s swept the Boston Red Sox in the ALCS to win their third consecutive AL pennant before falling to the Cincinnati Reds in the World Series.

Presented here is a Jostens 10K gold 1990 Oakland Athletics American League championship ring presented to the late Stan Naccarato, who was the President and General Manager of the AAA Tacoma Tigers in the A’s farm system. This ring has the face featuring the team’s elephant logo - among a group of three diamonds - set on a large green colored stone. “OAKLAND AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS” reads in relief lettering around the bezel setting. One side of the ring displays an image of Oakland’s Coliseum, along with listing that season’s combined attendance figure of 2,900,217. “1990 Athletics” reads above. An enamel-filled A’s logo highlights the opposite side, with the name “NACCARATO” at the top and “A’s-4 B-0” at the bottom.  “10K©JOSTENS” appears inside the band of this approximate size 10 ring. This item weighs approximately 42.7 grams. Included is the presentation box which includes a plate reading “Oakland Athletics American League Champions 1990 Stan Naccarato”.
