Originally from just south of Dublin Ireland Geraldine Fitzgerald began her illustrious acting career. After landing in some British films in the 1930s, she found her way to New York to perform on the Broadway stage opposite of Orson Welles. In 1939 she was nominated for an Academy Award.  Throughout the 1930s through the 1960s Fitzgerald enjoyed a prolific film career appearing in such series as Alfred Hitchcock Presents and even received an Emmy Award nomination for a guest role in The Golden Girls in 1988, along with winning a Daytime Emmy Award for best actress indeed NBC special treat episode Rodeo red and The Runaways.

This incredibly unique School friendship book dates from 1929 to 1933 and offers some tremendous and rare items from Geraldine Fitzgerald school days. The green suede covered book boats in a gold lettering" School Friendship Book". Inside the book are 189 pages that display original photographs, tickets to theatrical events and sporting events such as the Army-Navy football game of 1932, a California vs Stanford ticket from November 25th 1933, four tickets to the 10th Olympiad for track and field, a variety of handwritten letters and envelopes addressed to Geraldine Fitzgerald. The book also possesses an elaborate spread in the "dramatic Club" section that includes an original program from a high school play that took place June 1st through 2nd 1933 of “Mikado” where Geraldine Fitzgerald acted as a very young woman and is listed in the credits.

The photographs in the book really pull you into the time as black and white images of Fitzgerald's love interests reside with notes written in pen above and below, as well as images of her and her family at a very young age.   Unfortunately, due to lack of examples we cannot confirm that the handwriting in the book is that of Geraldine Fitzgerald’s, but it appears to be based on the layout of the book.  There are many letters addressed to Fitzgerald, however no autographs of Geraldine Fitzgerald are present in the book.  A truly unique piece of History this book in the covers from the early lifetime of American Theater Hall of Fame member Geraldine Fitzgerald.
