Detroit Tigers second baseman and 1984 World Series champion Lou Whitaker wore this gray Tigers road jersey during the 1992 MLB season. Whitaker, in his age-35 season, put up an excellent Triple Crown slash line of .278/19/71 to go with 26 doubles and 81 walks compared to only 46 strikeouts. The Tigers lifer finished his career after the 1995 MLB season with 2,369 hits, 420 doubles, and a .276 average at the dish.
This offered Tigers road jersey is a gray button-down with “DETROIT” sewn across the chest in navy and orange tackle twill. “WHITAKER” is sewn across the back shoulders in navy tackle twill. Whitaker’s number “1” is sewn on the back of the jersey in navy and orange tackle twill. A Russell Athletic size “44” and “92-1-2-16” tags are sewn on the front left tail. Whitaker has signed the “1” digit on the back of the jersey in silver marker. This jersey comes with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (200405A6) for the game use and comes with a COA from JSA for the signature.
