Despite missing the first six weeks of the season with a shoulder injury sustained during a collision with Toronto Blue Jays catcher Ken Huckaby on Opening Day, Hall of Famer Derek Jeter still managed to rap out 156 hits with a .324 batting average during the 2003 season. Jeter wore this size 48 New York Yankees white pin-striped home jersey during the 2003 season. The Yankees iconic interlocking “NY” logo is also in navy tackle twill on the left chest and Jeter’s retired number 2 is sewn on in navy tackle twill on the back with a red, white and blue MLB logo on the back collar. A New York Yankees 100th anniversary patch with the team’s bat-in-hat logo is on the left sleeve and the “2003 100th ANNIVERSARY WORLD SERIES” patch is sewn on the right sleeve. There is an MLB Authentic/Russell Athletic manufacturers label with faded flag tags and a “2003” strip tag at the left front tail. This jersey displays moderate game use and Jeter has signed his name in blue marker below his number on the back. This jersey comes with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (200331C5) for the game use in the 2003 regular season and made ready for use in the 2003 World Series, plus a LOA from JSA (BB68487) for Jeter’s signature.
