Miami Marlins outfielder Ichiro Suzuki wore this black Marlins alternate jersey on the day he passed Rod Carew for the most hits by a foreign-born player in MLB history. Against the St. Louis Cardinals on July 6th, 2017, Ichiro knocked a second inning single off Michael Wacha for the 3,053rd hit of his career to tie Carew, before knocking another single off Brett Cecil in the eighth frame to pass the Panamanian Hall of Famer. Ichiro finished the game, a 4-3 loss to the Cardinals at Busch Stadium, 2-for-3 with a walk and two singles.

The former Mariners and Yankees star hit .255 with three homers and 20 RBI in part-time action with the Marlins in 2017. Ichiro ended his illustrious career with a two-game cameo in the Mariners Japan series to open the 2019 season, finishing with 3,089 career hits and a .311 batting average.

This offered Marlins alternate jersey is a black button-down, with “MIAMI” sewn across the chest in multi-colored tackle twill. “ICHIRO” is sewn across the back shoulders in white and silver tackle twill below an MLB logo patch. Ichiro’s iconic number “51” is sewn on the back of the jersey in orange, black, and silver tackle twill. A “16” memorial patch for Jose Fernandez is sewn on the chest, while a Marlins “M” logo is sewn on the left sleeve and a 2017 All-Star Game patch is sewn on the right sleeve. A Majestic size “42” tag is applied to the front left tail. This jersey comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JB865071).
