Baltimore Orioles first baseman Eddie Murray wore this white, black, and orange Orioles batting helmet in the 1980s. The 1977 American League Rookie of the Year played for the O’s through 1988, hitting 333 homers with 2,021 hits, 1,190 RBI, and a .295 batting average in his first stint with the American League ballclub. Murray made six American League All-Star teams in the 1980’s as the Angeleno built his Hall of Fame resume. Murray finished his career with 3,255 hits and 504 homers, with Cooperstown calling his number as a part of the class of 2003.
This offered Orioles batting helmet is black, with a white front panel and orange brim. Some of the paint has chipped off due to age and use. The Orioles smiling bird logo is applied to the front of the helmet, while Murray’s number “33” is applied to the brim and back of the helmet in white numerals. An ABC logo is applied to the back of the helmet and “7 ½” is handwritten on the padding inside the helmet. Murray has signed the front of the helmet in blue marker. This comes with a LOA from J.T. Sports for the game use and a LOA from JSA (BB68476) for the signature.
