On December 14th, 1971, the New York Nets Hall of Fame small forward Rick Barry scored his 10,000th career ABA point during a 119-118 loss to the Denver Nuggets at Denver Auditorium Arena. “The Miami Greyhound” led all scorers with 48 points on 20 made field goals in front of 3,270 Denver fans in the Mile High City. Barry finished the season, his final year in the ABA, with a 31.5 points per game scoring average as he led the Nets to the ABA Finals against George McGinnis and the Indiana Pacers. Between the ABA and the NBA, the Hall of Famer Barry scored a total of 25,279 points and made 12 All-Star teams.

This offered ABA Jack Dolph basketball is red, white, and blue and shows excellent signs of game use. The basketball is mounted on a pedestal, with a gold-colored figurine topping the display. A plaque affixed to the pedestal is etched with “Rick Barry / New York Nets / The Ball Barry Used To Score His / 10,000th Career Point In The / American Basketball Association / Game At Denver, Dec 14, 1971”. This historic basketball comes with a LOA from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
