As the American League’s premier slugger during the 1970s, Reggie Jackson used primarily Adirondack bats, and this 1972-1975 288RJ model bat is a great example of a Jackson gamer. Based upon factory ordering records, this bat was ordered and used by Jackson during the referenced labeling period. This bat is un-cracked and exhibits excellent game use. The back barrel contains some light deadwood (grain separation) from repeated ball contact. The barrel contains some ball marks and stitch impressions, plus cleat imprints. His name “REGGIE JACKSON” is imprinted on the barrel, the model number “288RJ” is stamped on the knob with his (at that time) number “9” handwritten on the knob in black marker. The sweet spot contains Jackson’s signature in black marker, with the inscription “Best Wishes to” an unidentified name. Jackson also inscribed “World Champs! 72-73-74”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B11770) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9, plus a LOA from JSA for the signature.
