Davey Lopes was traded to the Houston Astros late in July of 1986 season as Houston ascended to the Western Division title. The Astros faced the New York Mets in the NLCS, where New York won a hard-fought six-game series. The Mets’ wisely treated the sixth game as a due-or-die type game, even though they had a 3-2 series lead as the looming presence of Mike Scott was waiting to start Game 7. Lopes had three plate appearances in the NLCS for the Astros, where he had a walk and scored a run in the 16th inning of Game 6. This offered Rawlings 441B model bat was used by Lopes during the NLCS. This bat displays outstanding use and has crack on the handle. There are black ink transfers on the barrel and the lower handle has been taped in an overlapping method to enhance the grip. Lopes’ number “15” is handwritten on the knob in black marker and the bat’s model number “441B DL” is also stamped on the knob. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA for the game use in the 1986 NLCS.
