No relief pitcher in the history of the game was as dominant or as effective than Mariano Rivera. The Sandman closed the doors on more wins than any other reliever in the history of the game and his late-innings heroics helped the Yankees win five World Championships. It was while wearing this Nike PPro Gold MO 42 fielder’s glove that dates to his 2007 season, which was about the midpoint of his Hall of Fame career. It was during that 2007 season that Rivera went on a tear saving 30 of 32 save opportunities and then surpassed John Franco for the number three spot in career saves.
This all-black leather glove displays outstanding game use, especially in the pocket, body and web face displaying even wear. This glove is made of Nike’s black dyed top-grade steer hide and is bound with rawhide laces and nylon stitching. There is neutral welting in the fingers and the wrist strap is fleeced-lined. The webbing is a two-piece design with a dual-laced palm hinge. The Nike “swoosh” is in gold on the wrist strap, middle finger and in a circle logo attached on the outer thumb. “Mariano Rivera” and the bible passage “PHIL 4:13” is embroidered in gold on the outer thumb. Rivera’s number “42” is embroidered in gold on the outer wrist strap. An incredible game used glove from the greatest reliver of all time and the only player to ever be unanimously inducted into the Hall of Fame from the prime of his career. This comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00574) for the game use.
