Harold “Red” Grange, the Galloping Ghost, was a star in college for the University of Illinois and was one of the first great football stars in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Grange scored a touchdown in every college football game he played in but one and was a two-time NFL champion with the Chicago Bears in 1932 and 1933. Grange was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the inaugural 1963 class. This offered football helmet is a Red Grange signature model football helmet. This brown leather helmet has a crown and individual earpieces with an adjustable forehead guard. There is a chinstrap that is still intact and on the back is stamped “Red Grange” and “Wilson SPORTING GOODS” and the number “7711”. A great piece of football history from the early days of the sport.
