MLB’s unanimous 2012 AL Rookie of the Year, Mike Trout, possesses that rare combination of speed and slugging. His rookie campaign diamond deeds qualified him for the 30-30 club, home runs and steals. Runner up to Miguel Cabrera as AL MVP, Trout signed and inscribed this game-used batting helmet in bold, silver Sharpie, “Michael Nelson Trout ‘Game used’ 2012 AL RoY”. The signature grades 10. The red helmet bears a decal of a red haloed “A,” trimmed in blue and white. The Rawlings cloth tag (size 7 3/8) is glued to the inside right temple. Evidence of game use includes pine-tar discolors the brim, diamond dust encrusts the black sweat band, scratches stretch across the top, and the ear flap sweat mesh is pulling from the padding. On the back, “2” and “7” are affixed. The helmet and signature have been authenticated by MLB. Certification # from MLB 324481 describes helmet as "Team issued batting helmet, additional information inscribed game used 2012 Al ROY".
