By 2015 David Ortiz had a firmly established reputation as the most dangerous DH in Red Sox history. Now in his 17th season in Boston, Big Papi was ticking off the home runs as he strived to reach the magical number of 500. On July 20, the Red Sox were in Anaheim to face the Angels with Ortiz sitting on 481 career shots. Big Papi came to bat in the 6th with a runner on and one out. Facing Andrew Heaney, Ortiz lined a shot to deep right-center which cleared the wall for home run number 482. This home run moved him that much closer to the exclusive 500 Home Run Club.

This is the bat Big Papi used to hit that homer, a Marucci DO-34 Custom Cut model bat that shows outstanding game use and is un-cracked. There are several ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs visible on the barrel. The handle has been taped with bright green Lizard Skin to enhance the grip. Best of all, Ortiz has signed the barrel in silver pen and inscribed: “Game Used 7/20/15 HR 482 vs. Angels off Heaney.” One of the best Ortiz gamers offered, with great game use and impeccable provenace tied to a specific home run. The bat comes with MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ865594) authenticating that Ortiz used this bat to hit a home run on July 20, 2015 (his 482nd career home run) and his signature. This bat also comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B11767), who have graded this bat a perfect GU 10 and a STICKER ONLY from Fanatics (1098029), which authenticates that this bat was used by Ortiz during the July 20, 2015 game for his 482nd home run.
