Hall of Fame pitcher Waite Hoyt enjoyed his greatest success with the New York Yankees, pitching for the team between 1921 and 1930. The Brooklyn native earned 157 of his 237 career victories in the Bronx and finished his career with an ERA of 3.59. Hoyt was especially effective in the postseason, collecting six wins and maintaining a 1.83 ERA in 12 World Series games. A three-time World Series champion with the Yankees, Hoyt was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969 via the Veteran’s Committee.
