In 1999, Hall of Famer Derek Jeter led the New York Yankees to the second of three consecutive World Series titles. The Yankees swept aside the overmatched Atlanta Braves in four easy games, with Jeter chipping in a remarkable .353 batting average en route to bringing another championship to the Bronx. “The Captain” would go on to lead the Bombers to two more championships in his Hall of Fame caliber career, earning World Series MVP accolades in the 2000 “Subway Series” against the Mets.
Jeter wore this navy Yankees cap during the 1999 World Series. This cap has the iconic interlocking “NY” logo embroidered in white on the front. The left side of the crown has the 1999 World Series logo patch and the back has the MLB logo embroidered in red, white and navy. This size 7 ¼ New Era cap has a gray underside brim with Jeter’s number “2” handwritten in royal blue marker. The cap displays moderate game use and Jeter has signed his name in black marker next to his number on the gray underside of the brim. This cap comes with a LOA from MEARS (316185) for the game use and a letter of provenance from former Yankees coach Jose Cardenal.
