Michael Jordan surprised the basketball and entire sports world when he announced his retirement prior to the start of the 1993-94 season after leading his Chicago Bulls to the first of their “3-Peat” championships. In February of 1994, Jordan signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox and reported to spring training in Florida.
