Michael Jordan surprised the basketball and entire sports world when he announced his retirement prior to the start of the 1993-94 season after leading his Chicago Bulls to the first of their “3-Peat” championships. Citing his lack of desire to play basketball and the tragic murder of his father, Jordan embarked on a new career – baseball. In February of 1994, Jordan signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox and reported to spring training in Florida. Jordan was assigned to the AA Birmingham Barons, where he finished the season with a .202 average, three home runs and 51 RBI. This offered Louisville Slugger P72 model bat was issued to Jordan in 1994. This bat does not display and game use and is un-cracked. Jordan’s bat has “MICHAEL “AIR” JORDAN” stamped on the barrel of this 33-ounce, 34-inch bat. This comes with a full LOA from MEARS (316897) who have graded this bat an A5.
