The 2012 season saw the Boston Red Sox celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Fenway Park. The Boston ballpark is not only a city landmark, but a baseball one as it continues to be the oldest park in the Majors. Fenway Park is famous for the 37-foot green wall in left field known as The Green Monster and has hosted numerous great players in the Red Sox uniform. Announced in September of 2012, the All-Fenway Park team that was chosen by a combination of fans, historians, Red Sox personnel and consultants. The “Starting Lineup” consisted of Hall of Famers Carlton Fisk (catcher), Jimmie Foxx (1B), Wade Boggs (3B), Ted Williams (LF), Pedro Martinez (P) and Lefty Grove (P) along with Dustin Pedroia (2B), Nomar Garciaparra (SS), Fred Lynn (CF), Dwight Evans (RF), Jonathan Papelbon (Closer), Terry Francona (Manager), Dave Roberts (PR), Bernie Carbo (PH) and David Ortiz (DH). Red Sox legend and icon David Ortiz was presented with this offered crystal award that was hand-etched by Simon Pearce. This crystal piece has a round top with a crystal base. Etched along the outside top is “All Fenway Team” and “David Ortiz”. A great piece of Red Sox history and it comes with a hologram from the David Ortiz Estate.
