The 1972 season saw the Texas Rangers make their debut after relocating from Washington. The former senators were managed by Hall of Famer Ted Williams. Offered here is a carbon copy lineup card from the August 30th game between the Rangers and New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. This blue lineup card has “1972 OFFICIAL BATTING ORDER (VISITING CLUB)” and “DATE 8/30/72”. There are three columns “ORIGINAL”, “CHANGE” and “AVAILABLE” with the lineup reading “Nelson 5 Ragland 4 Ford 9 Billings 2 Howard 3 Grieve 7 Lavitto 8 Mason 6 Panther 1”. “Williams” is copied in black on the “Home Manager’s Copy”.
