Encapsulated with Autograph Grade NM 7 by PSA/DNA. Hall of Famer. Charles E. "Chick" Evans, Jr. (1890-1979) was one of the most acclaimed amateur golfers in history. Evans won three major tournaments, including the 1916 U.S, Open, and was honored with the esteemed Bob Jones Award in 1960. Evans' rare, fountain pen signature appears at the bottom edge of this autograph book page, which also displays his detailed, handwritten account of a memorable links challenge. The page is dated, "April 9, 1931," in his hand. (Unrelated penmanship appears on the page's reverse.) This is a very desirable written memento from the storied figure, who was enshrined at the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1975.
