Hall of Famer Derek Jeter had a busy 1994 season as he worked his way up the minor league chain of the New York Yankees. Jeter played for three different teams in the Yankees’ organization in 1994 before his big-league debut in May of 1995. Jeter’s last stop before the Bronx, was for AAA Columbus, where he played in 35 games and batted .349. Jeter wore this all-blue Columbus Clippers batting helmet during the 1994 season. This size 7 1/8 helmet was made by American Baseball Cap of Media, Pennsylvania. The front of the helmet has a blue sticker with “C” that is centered. The helmet has two earflaps and Jeter’s number “24” is handwritten in black marker on the inside back gray padding. The back has the ABC logo sticker affixed in white with remnants of another sticker to the left of the ABC logo that has been removed. This helmet displays outstanding use with dirt and abrasion marks. This helmet comes with a LOA from J.T. Sports for the game use, plus a letter of provenance from Jason Moritz, who was the Columbus Clippers bat boy from 1994 to 1999 and states in his letter that he received this helmet from the Columbus Clippers.
