The 1965 Buffalo Bills won the AFL Championship in their sixth season in the league. This was the second season in a row that Buffalo captured the title and their defense led the way. Allowing only 226 points (16.1 per game) their stingy defense gave up the fewest points in the entire league. Incredibly, Buffalo only allowed four rushing touchdowns and starting with week eight, the Bills did allow a touchdown on the ground all the way through their two playoff games, which is a professional football record that still stands. Buffalo defeated the San Diego Chargers 23-0 in the title game, following an impressive 10-3-1 record. Offered here is a 1965 Buffalo Bills championship ring that was manufactured by the John Roberts Company. This 10K-gold, size 10 ring features a 25-point diamond centered on a blue stone. “BUFFALO BILLS” and “A.F.L. CHAMPIONS” surround the outside with “19” on the left center and “65” on the right center. The right shank has the Bills helmet and “E.J. HAND” in raised relief above two gold banners that read “BUFFALO BILLS 23” and “SAN DIEGO 0”. The opposite shank has the AFL logo in the center in raised relief with “SECOND CONSECUTIVE” above in raised relief and “CHAMPIONSHIP” carved in a gold banner below. This rare and beautiful ring is in Gem-Mint condition.
