Hall of Famer Bill Dickey played for the New York Yankees from 1928 through 1943. After serving in the United States Navy during World War II, Dickey returned to the Yankees in 1946 as a player and manager. He retired after the 1946 season, but returned in 1949 as a coach, where he taught Yogi Berra the finer points of catching. During Dickey's playing career, the Yankees went to the World Series nine times, winning eight championships. He was named to 11 All-Star Games. As a manager and coach, the Yankees won another six World Series titles. Dickey was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1954.

Offered here are three signed items by the other legendary Yankee who wore No. 8. Dickey signed his name in blue marker on two identical black and white photographs of him suiting up in his catcher’s gear wearing his home white pinstriped Yankees’ uniform. One of the photographs have been matted, but not framed, while the other photograph is a stand-alone. Dickey’s signature was signed across his right shoulder and chest of both photos. Each photograph comes with a COA from JSA (J36898 & L82797) for the signature. The final item is a Louisville Slugger Bill Dickey stamped model bat. Dickey signed his name in blue marker below the “LOUISVILLE SLUGGER” stamp on the barrel. Please note that Dickey’s first name is slightly faded. This item comes with a COA from Beckett Authentication (S59965).
