Offered in this lot is the hat of Frank Sinatra’s personal chef, Sonny De Crescenzi, that has been signed by numerous dinner guests of “Ol’ Blue Eyes”. Crescenzi was the chef at Sonny D’s Restaurant in Secaucus, New York, with Sinatra flying Crescenzi out to Las Vegas each time the renowned crooner performed at the MGM Grand Casino. On the inside of this Desert Laundry toque is a tag printed with the text “Frank Sinatra / 1-003” and a size 7 ? tag. This chef’s hat has the signatures of several of Sinatra’s dinner guests, including Rosalind Russell, Gregory Peck, Nancy Sinatra, Jimmy Stewart, Bill Bixby, Mrs. Herb Alpert, and several others. Nancy Sinatra inscribed “Dear Sonny- / If you could really cook you’d be terrific / Love, Nancy Sinatra”. Written on the bottom of the toque is “April 1969”. This historic piece of show business memorabilia comes with a letter of provenance from Michael Monteforte, whose great uncle Sonny De Crescenzi was the owner of Sonny D’s Restaurant in Secaucus, New Jersey and was Sinatra’s personal chef and also comes with a LOA from JSA (Z60864).
