Hall of Famer and the late Kobe Bryant wore this purple Lakers road shorts during his rookie season of 1996-97. Bryant was selected with the 13th overall pick of the draft out of Lower Merion High School by the Charlotte Hornets, and immediately flipped to the Lakers with Vlade Divac heading the other way. Bryant played in 76 games for the Lakers his rookie year, coming off the bench to average 17.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3 assists per 36 minutes. Bryant’s rise was extraordinary, and by his sophomore year had already picked up his first of 18 All-Star nods. The lifelong Laker played until the end of the 2015-2016 season and retired as the third leading scorer in league history.

These Champion size 38 shorts are purple with yellow sides and a yellow waist. The yellow sides are bordered with white/yellow/white stripes that also border the leg ends. The NBA logo patch used during the 1996-97 50th Anniversary Season is embroidered in gold on the lower right leg. The inside waist lining has the Champion size 38 tag and the “Champion DESIGNED & TAILORED EXCLUSIVELY FOR LOS ANGELES LAKERS RISE +2 INSEAM +3” tag with the Lakers’ logo. These shorts display moderate game use and come with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication for the game use.
