The Los Angeles Dodgers wasted no time in bringing championship ball to the West Coast. Just one year after relocating from Brooklyn, the Dodgers took the 1959 National League pennant after beating the Milwaukee Braves in a best-of-three playoff, then overcame the Chicago White Sox for the World Championship. The 1959 team was the perfect combination of the old “Boys of Summer” of Duke Snider, Pee Wee Reese and Gil Hodges and the future dynasty of Sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale and Maury Wills.
31 members of the World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers have signed this Official National League Warren Giles stamped baseball. Hall of Fame manager Walter Alston signed his name on the sweet spot with Chuck Dressen’s signature below Alston. All of the signatures on this ball have been signed in black pen and include Hall of Famers Sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale, Duke Snider and Pee Wee Reese. Other signatures include Gil Hodges, Joe Pignatano, Bob Lillis, Bill Harris, Wally Moon, Don Demeter, Dick Gray, Frank Howard, Clem Labine, Stan Williams, Carl Furillo, Carl Erskine, Don Zimmer, Greg Mulleavy, Johnny Klippstein, John Roseboro, Ron Fairly, Don Dessent and others. This ball is in good condition displaying only minor toning. The signatures are light, but still readable. This ball comes with a LOA from JSA.
