One of Michael Jordan’s most iconic moments on the hardwood took place at Richfield Coliseum, situated in the backwoods of Ohio between a number of farms and highways against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the fifth and final game of their Eastern Conference Playoffs First Round matchup. Jordan, yet to win any of his six NBA titles, elevated over Cleveland’s Craig Ehlo to nail a jumper at the buzzer to give Chicago a thrilling 101-100 road playoff victory in the series’ decisive game. Jordan scored 44 points in this game to upset the Cavaliers, who won the regular season series against the Bulls 6-0.

Offered in this lot is a framed photograph of “The Shot” displayed with copies of the game scorer’s sheets for both teams. A plaque in the display is etched with “‘The Shot’ / Richfield Coliseum / May 9, 1989 / Chicago - 101 Cleveland - 100”. This framed display measures 18 x 37 inches and originally hung in the Richfield Coliseum. This is a fantastic relic from the early era of Jordan’s Hall of Fame career!
