Legendary flamethrower Roger Clemens spent his fourth season with the New York Yankees in 2002, where he compiled a 13-6 record and 4.35 ERA. Clemens struck out 192 batters in 180 innings pitched as he helped lead New York to a 103-58 record and the American League East Division crown.
Offered here is a button-down New York Yankees road jersey worn by Clemens during the 2002 season and has been photo matched to the August 29, 2002 game. Clemens pitched five innings in this game in the loss to the Blue Jays. This jersey was made by Russell Athletic and is size 52 with a “+3” EXTRA LENGTH”. “NEW YORK” is sewn across the chest in block letters in navy and white tackle twill. The back of his jersey has “22” sewn on in navy and white tackle twill, with the MLB logo patch sewn on above the number. The sleeves are capped by an expandable navy/white/navy striping pattern. The Russell Athletic tag, along with the size and “EXTRA LENGTH” flags are sewn on the bottom front left tail.
