The Argentine football legend played in four World Cups, scored two legendary goals in the 1986 World Cup quarterfinal game against England tournament (“The Hand of God” and “Goal of the Century” goals), and was named, along with Pelé, as the FIFA Player of the 20th Century. This hooded, red, polyester warm-up suit was worn by Maradona in the 1979 Argentine Juniors Tournament for team Argentino Metropolitano. It is trimmed with the Adidas’ three white stripes down the arms and legs. It has a sweat vent across the upper back. The suit shows heavy evidence of game use including the number “18” written in blue pen on the left shoulder stripes, the number “10” similarly written on the left hip stripes, a black smudge on the right chest and rear, left hip. The elastic around the sleeve cuffs is spent. Clay stains are visible on the white stripes. Snaps, jacket and hood pull-strings, and zippers on legs, crotch, jacket and jacket pocket are operable and intact. A COA from Argentine footballer Juan Barbas accompanies this item.
