He was known as baseball's "The Chosen One" in the 2009 Sports Illustrated article which catapulted Bryce Harper from local high school prodigy to national attraction. He was baseball's version of LeBron James, a high school athlete so dominating, he was "a men among boys." He was projected to be the No. 1 overall draft pick when he was eligible, so after his sophomore year Harper earned his GED, making him eligible for the June 2010 amateur draft in order to begin his professional baseball career earlier. The Southern Nevada Coyotes played in the Scenic West Athletic Conference, and while most of college baseball uses metal bats, the SWAC uses only wood bats, just like the Major Leagues. As the youngest player in the SWAC, Harper demolished the competition, hitting ,443 with 31 home runs, with 98 RBIs in only 66 games. His 31 home runs shattered the school's previous record of 12, and was named the 2010 SWAC Player of the Year and the 2010 Golden Spikes Award winner, college baseball's equivalent to the Heisman Trophy. During his one season at Southern Nevada, "The Chosen One" wore this gold jersey while recording many of his prodigious blasts. The gold mesh button down jersey has "Coyotes" across the chest with a seraph in blue on gold on white tackle twill. Harper's number "34" is below left in the same coloring trio. The right shoulder has the angry coyote on a baseball patch while the left shoulder has a gold swatch stitched on with an embroidered "LI." The reverse has the same angry coyote patch on the upper back with Harper's number "34" below, and inside is an "XL" size tag. An LOA from a Southern Nevada team employee accompanies this jersey, and there is ample video evidence on line showing Harper wearing this jersey while hitting home runs. This is the earliest known game used Bryce Harper jersey, who at such a young age has demonstrated his amazing baseball talent, which should eventually land him with the games all time greatest players.
