The seventh overall pick in the 1980 NBA Draft, oft-injured center Mike Gminski played 13 seasons with New Jersey, Philadelphia, Charlotte and Milwaukee. When healthy, Gminski was a defensive force at 6’11” 250 lbs. Gminski boldly signed the red side of this 76ers practice jersey in black Sharpie, “Mike Gminski #42” to the right of “42.” The reverse is white with blue “Sixers” logo and “42” on front and back. The jersey is 50% polyester, 50% cotton, size XL, and has a small Champion cloth tag on the rig seam. The NBA insignia adorns the left shoulder strap. The 1989 -’90 NBA Most Improved Player spent 11 seasons with four NBA teams. Rony Seikaly boldly signed the white side of this Heat practice jersey in gold Sharpie, “Rony Seikaly 4” upward across the “H” of “Heat.” The reverse is black with red “Heat” logo. The jersey is 100% polyester, size XXL, and has the Champion cloth tag at the lower left hip. The NBA and Champion insignias adorn the left shoulder strap. The 7-foot center out of Georgia Tech, Matt Geiger spent 10 seasons playing for three teams, including Miami, which drafted him in 1992. Geiger boldly signed the white side of this Heat practice jersey in black Sharpie, “Matt Geiger 4” above the “E” of “Heat.” The reverse is black with red “Heat” logo. The jersey is 100% polyester, size XXL, and has the Champion cloth tag at the lower left hip. Evidence of game use includes noticeable discoloration around the white edges. The NBA and Champion insignias adorn the left shoulder strap. Billy Owens spent a decade in the NBA, playing for six teams, including Miami from ’94 – ’96. Owens boldly signed the white side of this Heat practice jersey in silver Sharpie, “Billy Owens #30” above the “H” of “Heat.” The reverse is black with red “Heat” logo. The jersey is 100% polyester, size XL, and has the Champion cloth tag at the lower left hip. Evidence of game use includes noticeable discoloration around the white edges. The NBA and Champion insignias adorn the left shoulder strap. The 7-foot center from the Czech Republic played three seasons for three teams in the late 1990s. George Zidek boldly signed the turquoise side of this Hornets practice jersey in silver Sharpie, “George Zidek” above the Charlotte crest. The reverse is black with white “Charlotte” crest. The jersey is 100% polyester, size XL, and has the Champion cloth tag at the lower left hip. Evidence of game use includes noticeable discoloration around the white edges. The NBA and Champion insignias adorn the left shoulder strap. Ron Mercer, the oft-injured guard-forward spent eight seasons with seven teams. Mercer boldly signed the green side of this Celtics practice jersey in black Sharpie, “Ron Mercer 5” between the “Celtics” crest and Nike “swoosh.” The reverse of this size XL jersey is white with the “Nike Team Sports” tag at the lower left hip. The NBA insignia adorns the left shoulder strap. The Sacramento Kings No. 18 practice jersey is unsigned. Made by MacGregor, a Sand-Knit cloth tag is stitched into the right-side seam of the 100% nylon jersey. One side is blue with white letters and the number 18. The reverse side is white with blue lettering and number 18. On the left shoulder strap is the NBA logo underscored with “MacGregor.” Based on the estimated age of the jersey, the number “18,” and other research, this jersey most likely was worn by Derek Smith, who played 10 seasons in the NBA, 1986 –‘ 89 for the Kings, and died at age 34 from a congenital heart defect in 1996.
