In his 10th season as Yankees skipper, Joe Torre notched his 900th managerial win against the Oakland A’s at Yankee Stadium on May 8, 2005. In the next two-and-a-half seasons he would move past Ralph Houk, Miller Huggins and Casey Stengel into second place on the Yankee manager’s all-time wins list. His 1,173 wins as Yankees manager are second only to Joe McCarthy’s 1,460. Torre’s 2,326 career managerial wins place him fifth on the all-time MLB list behind Connie Mack (3,731), John McGraw (2,763), Tony LaRussa (2,728) and Bobby Cox (2,504). This Rawlings Official MLB Alan H. Selig Commissioner ball contains some game-used wearing, including a scuff on the Rawlings logo panel and remnants of umpire’s pre-game Delaware River mud rubdown; comes in Steiner Sports box with blue-felt cinch-bag and MLB Authentics sticker # MR 661223.
