It didn’t take long for the NBA and basketball fans of Chicago to realize they had something special in rookie Michael Jordan. Already having a successful collegiate career at North Carolina and leading Team USA to the gold medal in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, Jordan quickly established himself as a rising force in the NBA in 1984. Offered here is the December 10, 1984 edition of Sports Illustrated that features Michael Jordan on the cover. This has been matted and framed to a dimension of 12 x 15 inches. The image shows Jordan rising up with the ball over three Milwaukee Bucks defenders. The caption reads in green “A STAR IS BORN” with the subheading to the left “Michael Jordan Lights Up The NBA”. Jordan has signed this magazine on the cover in black marker along his image.
