Offered is an high grade example of this classic 1948-49 Leaf rookie card of Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson, one of the most popular of all of Robinson’s cards. The Leaf baseball set is often encountered with many condition problems due to the fragile paper stock and shoddy production practices which produced many cards with heavy black print marks. These print issues are one of the hallmarks of this set, and it is easy to see why these Leaf cards are some of the most difficult of all issues to collect in high grade. The offered example has a perfectly crisp image with flawless registration. This card is exceptionally clean front and back, with nary a print blemish, exhibiting four sharp corners and is centered a touch towards the left. This is an exceptionally appealing high-grade example of what many veteran collectors feel is Jackie Robinson's single most beautiful and desirable baseball card. There are only seven unqualified copies examined by PSA which have graded higher, but cannot imagine many examples with better eye appeal. This card is worthy of your every consideration. PSA Graded NM-MT 8.
