1973 was the last season played under the original design of the old Yankee Stadium. The old ballpark would begin a major renovation after that season that two over two years to complete as the Yankees would play their home games at Shea Stadium in Queens during the 1974 and 1975 seasons. Offered here are two multi-signed baseballs from the 1973 season and each ball has a Thurman Munson signature. One ball is a “NEW YORK YANKEES” stamped Wilson ball and the other is a “PREP LEAGUE” Wilson stamped ball. In addition to Munson’s signatures in this lot other signatures include Bobby Murcer, Ralph Houk, Mel Stottlemyre, Fritz Peterson, Lou Piniella, Chris Chambliss, Lindy McDaniel, Felipe Alou, Gene Michael, Graig Nettles, Sparky Lyle and others. This entire lot comes with a JSA Auction LOA. Please note that “NEW YORK YANKEES” stamped ball has clubhouse signatures of Piniella, Murcer and Lyle, while the “PREP LEAGUE” ball has clubhouse signatures of Murcer and Lyle.
