Unanimously elected Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera flaunted his Hall of Fame bona fides yet again in 2006, saving 34 games with a miniscule ERA of 1.80. The Panama-born reliever made the sixth of his 13 career All-Star Games in 2006, providing the anchor at the end of the 97-65 Yankees pitching staff.
Offered here is a premier game used and one of the finest known Mariano Rivera New York Yankees road jersey that has been photo matched to 19 games – including nine of his 34 saves he had that season. Sports Investors Authentication have photo matched this gray jersey to the May 30, June 16, 17, 20, 21 , July 7, 22, 24, 25, 26, August 4, 6, 8, 9, 20, 25, 27, September 22 and 25th games of the 2006 season. In those 19 games Rivera pitched 24 innings, striking out 21 and earning those nine saves, along with winning three games – his 3rd, 4th and 5th of the season. This jersey has also been photo matched to be the only road jersey he wore exclusively from May 30 until the end of the season.
This impeccable jersey was made by Majestic and is a size 46. “NEW YORK” is sewn on across the chest of this button-down jersey in navy and white tackle twill. The back of the jersey has Rivera’s number “42” sewn on in navy and white tackle twill and the MLB logo patch is sewn on the upper back neck. The Majestic tag is sewn on the bottom front left and has a “46” flag attached. One of the best Mariano Rivera jerseys ever offered and it comes with LOAs from MEARS (305617), who have given this jersey it’s highest grade of A10 for the game use and a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (200223A1), who have photo matched this jersey to the aforementioned 19 games.
