No rookie player was more anticipated in NBA history than Michael Jordan was in 1984. As he would throughout his amazing career, Jordan’s rookie season did not disappoint as he averaged 28.2 points per game and led the Bulls to a playoff appearance. Jordan’s highlight reel dunks also started to draw attention in opposing arenas and helped the Bulls to become a marquee draw and began the era of “Air Jordan”.

Offered here are Chicago Bulls memorabilia that date to Jordan’s rookie season of 1984-85. The first item is a Chicago Bulls “SEASON TICKETS 1984-85” brochure. The Bulls knew then they had something special as an image of Jordan with Team USA red uniform is going up for a dunk. The caption in white reads “MICHAEL JORDAN…*Chicago Bulls 1984 First Round Draft Choice*Gold Medal Winner and high scorer on the 1984 U.S. Olympic Team*College Basketball Player of the Year 1983 and 1984”. The back of this brochure has the 1984-85 Bulls’ home schedule and the inside foldouts have various arena information and other tidbits. The next item is a Chicago Bulls “84-85” pocket schedule. The cover features Orlando Woolridge on the cover at home against the Celtics. The inside foldout opens to a color-coated schedule and also has a profile image of Jordan.

The final item in this lot is an 18 x 23 ½-inch full color advertising poster that shows the entire 1984-85 Chicago Bulls. The image shows all of the players holding weights in their white uniforms with the back row standing, the second row sitting on lift benches and Michael Jordan and Ronnie Lester sitting back-to-back on the ground. This set celebrates the bright future that awaited Chicago Bulls fans with the arrival of one Michael Jordan.
