Len Bias was one of the most dominant players in college basketball history and was the No. 2 overall pick in the 1986 NBA Draft by the World Champion Boston Celtics. Sadly, Bias passed away due to a drug overdose only days after being drafted and never realized his NBA potential. Because of his untimely death, signatures from Bias are extremely rare. This offered item was not only signed by Len Bias, but handwritten by him as well, making this an extremely rare find. This letter is on “UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT” letterhead with “”LEFTY” DRIESELL HEAD BASKETBALL COACH” printed below, all in red print. The letter was written in bold blue pen and reads “Sean, Thank you for feeling the way you do about the way I play. Thanks for writing me and stay cool. Good Luck” signed “Len Bias #34”. This remarkable piece comes with a LOA from JSA.
