Elected to the Hall of Fame in 2003, Gary Carter was an 11-time all-star and a fan favorite throughout his career. "The Kid" used this Louisville Slugger P89 from 1980-1983 during which he made the NL All-Star squad each summer, while winning the 1981 NL MVP, three Gold Glove Awards and two Silver Slugger Awards. This Louisville Slugger P89 model bat displays excellent use and has a crack on the handle that has a portion of the handle secured. There are ball marks and stitch impressions present on the barrel, along with blue, green and red bat rack streaks. Carter’s number “8” is handwritten in black marker on the knob and there is nice coating of pine tar on the handle. Carter has signed his name in bold black marker on the barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18510) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 9. Additionally, there is a LOA from JSA for the signature.
